Keeping in the family tradition, the brother's sister Dawn Corby and Ron's wife Sue work part-time at the store. Dawn orders specialty foods and grocery items and manages shipping orders. Sue works with packaging and the creation and maintenance of this website. The sister-in-laws have fun teaming up to work festival brat stands, catering orders, and preparing springerle and lebkuchen cookies during the Christmas season. Their daughters, Ali and Rachel Corby and Tanya and Julia Kern like to help out too by stocking shelves, working at the brat stands, and filling gift boxes - the fourth generation already hard at work!
Since 1949, Kern's has employed hundreds of workers from the surrounding area. For many high school students it was their very first job. While some may only stay with us for a summer job, others are with us longer. John Maurer (pictured at right) started working at Kern's in 1966 and retired in 2009. Thank-you John for 43 years of service. Thank-you to all our hard working past and present employees. Your efforts have helped make our business a success.
